Independence Day: Lauren Goes the Extra Mile!
A lovely story now, from our Housing Manager, Lauren, on the rewards of Housing Management:
In late September 2024, I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Davies. Team Leader, Verity and I, visited her and she was incredibly welcoming. We had a delightful chat, discussing various issues she was facing.
One concern that stood out was Mrs. Davies' difficulty in climbing the stairs due to her age. While her spirit remains youthful, her physical limitations were affecting her independence. To address this, I referred Mrs. Davies for an Occupational Therapy (OT) visit to assess her needs. The OT recommended installing a stairlift, which would greatly benefit her.
Mrs. Davies is fortunate to have a supportive family who kept in touch with me for updates. After numerous emails and phone calls, Mrs. Davies called to share the wonderful news that the stairlift had been installed. She was overjoyed and expressed her gratitude, saying she wanted to give me a hug. So, I visited her today, and she kept her promise, giving me a big hug. The true rewards of being a Housing Manager!
